Behind the Blogger Tag

I was really pleased to be nominated to do this tag, thank you, Susan! [Click on the link to see her answers!]

Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Answer all the questions down below
  • Pingback to the creator: Ellyn @Β Allonsythornraxx
  • Nominate 5+ bloggers you’d like to know more about, to do this tag

1. Why did you start blogging & why have you kept blogging?

I started because I realized I was reading a lot more than I had been recently and thought it would be fun, not to mention maybe give me something a little more to do than music and chores during the school/work day. It’s only been four months, so I’ve kept doing it because I’m still enjoying it, I imagine if I stop enjoying it, well, that will be the time to hang up my hat. [And I’m sure I’ll be hitting a slump or two as I go, it’s only natural!]

2. What is your favorite type of blog post to write?

As much as it’s fun to write reviews, and tags and memes are fun too, I think I really enjoy my posts where I get personal. Talking about reading and my marriage, or how I came to love reading, and I really really enjoyed doing the World Book Day post, talking about the charities, and I hope to do more of that as I go along.

3. What are your top 3 favorite blog posts?

Well this one is easy since I literally just answered this prematurely.

  1. World Book Day 2019
  2. Finding love for Reading
  3. Love and Reading

4. What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?

Read, write fanfics, music. Mostly music! I find it relaxing to work on cover songs or practice orchestra and the musical (this also keeps me from getting stressed when I get to rehearsal since I know what I’m doing bahaha).

5. What are 3 of your favorite things?

My Family
Music
Books

6. What are your proudest blogging moments?

Just starting out, getting started should be recognized for so much more than it is. It takes a lot to put yourself out there! Also, sorta proud that I’ve learned to mix up my posts some and that I’m really just taking pride in what I do, daily.

7. What are your hobbies outside of blogging?

Music. I’ve said before I play a variety of instruments and I’m in the local Orchestra Society, the Amateur Operatic Society, I sometimes do a very awesome choir in Edinburgh, and I’ve recently helped out the local Fiddle Reel Society!

8. Describe your personality in 3 words:

Slytherin. Sarcasm. Snark.

9. What are your top 3 pet peeves?

Just three, huh? Okay. Hmm. Wait, I got it.

People who walk too slow because they’re not paying attention. It’s crowded, I want to get to my destination, people.

Having to deal with people who have no connection to you personally just because they’re technically family.

Those who just can’t let others enjoy things. Unless it’s harmful or wrong in any way, just, just let them read and watch what they like!

10. What’s something your followers don’t know about you?

I’m Batman.

Who do I tag?

Isabelle
Ruby
Sophia
Jayati
Sam
And anyone else that wants to do this!
If you don’t just ignore it lol

  1. Great post! I also love doing tags and memes πŸ˜€ You write fanfics?! That’s so cool! Are they posted on your site? I don’t think I’ve seen them. I want to start writing in general this or next year … but I always forget lol!

Oh my gosh … I feel you with the people walking slow … I can’t stand it! Or when people block the entire sidewalk AND are slow … and the family thing KILLS me. My mom is super cool though, for she gets if I want to “bow out” since I just have no connection with some of these people …

Oh my … I just had a HUGE debate with someone about that. They HAVE to always have an opinion and get at other people for their interests and beliefs. If it doesn’t harm anyone or anything … LET IT GOOOOOOOOO!

LMFAO!!! BEST LAST ANSWER EVER!!! Amazing! When the baristas at Starbucks ask what my name is for my cup, I always say either Batman or Nightwing πŸ˜€

    1. Hi Jenna! Thanks so much for your comment, I loved reading it! Haha I do, they’re on AO3, and I say if you get the chance just jot something/type something down, even if it’s just a sentence, I bet you’ll be great at it!

And omg you are right if they block and walk slow, they’re dead to me lol. I am glad though that your mom is at least cool about it, so is mine, haha yay moms!

And to the people who can’t let go, we will sing Frozen to them https://media.giphy.com/media/119SFXjoMsax6o/giphy.gif

Also, I freakin LOVE Nightwing, great taste my friend!

      1. Maybe one of these days I actually will try to write something πŸ™‚

Ugh … the worst … like people … I GOT PLACES TO BE! It bugs me more when I basically have to go on the road when people walk towards me and see I have NO WHERE to walk … then give me the dirty look … like, for real?? And yeah … she’s one of those people that family doesn’t automatically mean respect and that you have to hang out with them — she thinks that no matter what, you have to earn that. And that being blood related doesn’t make you get along lol. She’s the best πŸ™‚

    My Bookish Blog – Ayushi

Excellent tag, I really like this because you end up knowing the person well. I share your pet peeves too! And even I like posts where I can talk from my heart and share experiences… love it.

  3. Well, I hate to write personal posts (I feel too self-conscious) but I love to read them and find out how similar and different people can be!
Also, I hate dealing with extended family too! Being an Indian, we see a lot of our family a lot but I was away at boarding school so I never got to know them and now I am at a weird stage when I can not get to know them and have to stay alone.
also, then there are the weird aunts who’ll come and say stuff like, ‘look how much you’ve grown’, ‘you were just this tall when we saw you last’ (using multiple hand gestures)
Plus, I love the words you used to describe your personality! They define you perfectly and I’m loving the alliteration too!
Great post and thank you so much for tagging me! I can not wait to do it!

    1. They are much more fun to read than to write with personal posts lol, and I feel you so much on the extended family! I’m half Mexican/Tejano, I have so many cousins I’ve never even met lol and kind of like you, I didn’t go to boarding school but I never got to know most and so when they see me they’re like ‘Henry who’s that’ and it’s just this awkward thing where like ‘Oh well that super pale child is my youngest daughter’ ‘you had another daughter’ *Cue me fading into the background* πŸ˜‰

I also hate when people are like ‘look how much you’ve grown’ as if you were never going to grow in the first place lol And aaah hahah thank you for appreciating my alliteration, I am so excited to see your answers!

      1. haha, I get exactly what you mean
I mean at family functions everyone comes and meets me like it’s the first time they’re seeing me since I was born (which may or may not be true)

I know right! You cant expect me to stay 10 pounds and 10 inches long forever! I’m gonna grow – just like you did.

  4. thanks for the tag, Haley! πŸ’•

I love reading your personal posts and getting to know you better (not to sound creepy or anything, it’s true for all my internet/blogger friends 😜), so it’s awesome that you love writing them! win-win πŸŽ‰ music is awesome and I wish I had more time for it, but I only play piano + can’t sing on-key (which doesn’t mean I don’t do it, just that I don’t do it *in front of people* πŸ˜…) + don’t have a keyboard so I settle for Spotify and sometimes MuseScore, haha.

you’ve come so far since you started and wow I am inspired. I absolutely agree that it takes a lot to even get started, and constantly working to improve, and I’m so glad that blogging is still something that brings you joy!

    1. Aww you’re welcome ❀

HAHA don't worry it doesn't sound creepy Isabelle! And you should always do the music thing even if you allegedly sing off key (I bet you're secretly brilliant). Maybe someday you'll get a keyboard and dazzle us all with your playing! I'd totally love that lol and just awwww your comment has meant so much to me, thank you! It's easy to improve when you're surrounded by such great book bloggers

  6. Ooooo yes, I love personal posts! While reviews, tags and memes have a personal touch, I think personal posts have us really getting to know the blogger and I love knowing more about blogging peeps that I consider friends (yes, you’re a friend). πŸ˜€

    Thanks for the tag, Haley!

    1. Yes! I do love tags for getting to see other interests and a bit of a behind the blogger moment, but I love it when anyone just goes on a tangent post ❀ Also, excuse me while I go sob as you've called me a friend

Secondly, I didn’t know you were batman! *fangirl screams*

I loved reading about how much pride you take from blogging and the joy it brings you. I am really glad that you started your blog so you crashed your way into my life! And we all need a fun hobby
