September Brings all My Books to the Yard

If you have a friend who preorders books a lot, I beg you to check on them after this month.

Apparently, after two years of book blogging and now a bit of book collecting, I still didn’t learn my lesson to save up for the month that is September madness.

Any book that doesn’t come out in March apparently comes out this month, no other publication dates exist (jk) just September. There are at least 30 I can name off the top of my head and those are YA only, that’s not including the plethora of other books coming out in other age ranges.

Honestly, I tried to keep track, I still forgot about so many. This month was rough and I could not even begin to fathom what was wrong with past me that let present me deal with this, other than I’m a sadistic wench. (Which I am)

I love to support authors as much as I can, I’m in a position to preorder quite a few things but not even I could prepare for this, AND ON TOP OF IT ALL I BOUGHT SO MANY EDITIONS OF AT LEAST TWO OF THE RELEASES. WHY.

I can honestly say I look forward to November and December to recover. There are not nearly as many releases for me to ‘worry’ about (I mean I don’t have to worry about any of them, I can just cancel…in theory).

I guess I’ve overcompensated this year after the rough ride of 2020 and what has been 2021 thus far. But. Seriously. Can publishers just spare us a little? LIKE I LOVE YOU, LOVE ME BACK. SAVE MY WALLET.

Anyone else need a check up after this month? Moral support? Virtual cookies and a support group? Any books you wanted to preorder or got to preorder for this year at all?

For those Curious about my September preorders, I had about 20, but at least 3-4 were from indie stores so I paid to preorder way earlier on in the year when I decided I wanted the books lol.

**You do not have to buy any books to feel valid as a bookworm! You are perfect no matter how many books you own/read, don’t own/don’t read right now, no matter your slump or anything else, so don’t let this post make you think otherwise!**

A Clash of Steel was amazing, the prose was lush, the main characters so relatable, the treasure vast and it was so twisty! I
There are a few more books I want to read before the year is out, but so far, Iron Widow is topping the list for best book of the year for me!
