I just wanted to share some of my latest and favorite graphic novel reads lately. And as I don’t have too many on my shelves, I would love to hear your favorites/recommendations.
1

Adorable, has dragons, involves tea, is LGBTQ and Disability Rep friendly, all three of the Tea Dragon books are absolutely amazing and I love them all.
2

Another LGBTQ+ read, and actually all but the last book are LGBTQ+ reads. This is also Own Voices and was a YARC read for me last year! GORGEOUS art, and so many feels!
3

The story and the character development for the MCs in this is actually just downright amazing. Of course the art is beautiful, look at that cover, and I just loved the cast of characters in this so much.
4

THIS FIRST VOLUME, THIS STORY. THEY ARE ROOMMATES! THERE IS FENCING. AND WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?! I NEED TO GET VOLUME 2! YES THIS IS ALL CAPS.
5

I have not read the novel this was adapted from but this was such a powerful novel and the art is just…I can’t describe how shocking the contrast of the characters and the colors that make up the world in this are. It’s darker visually and story wise and it was pretty intense. Own voices, Black author Jason Reynolds.
What about you all? What are your graphic novel/comic/manga recs. or what’s one you hope to read?

When you started with an O’Neill book I was immediately keen to see what else you would rec because it was doubtless to be good! Can’t wait to check out The Magic Fish. Happy reading!
