Read for the very first time

Thanks, Clo for another fun prompt to do! Check hers out here!

[Thank you to Sam & Clo for putting this event together!]

What books would I want to read again for the very first time?

[Get it? Madonna’s Like a Virgin?? Bahaha ok I’m done]

For series, There’s one, once more very obvious answer from me

I can’t help it, I would love to reread the magic of Harry getting all those letters, to have Hagrid come out to get Harry, after having dropped him off 11 years prior and Harry’s first foray into Diagon Alley. That’s what I would choose.

Chronicles of Narnia would have been on this list if it hadn’t been for the fact I’m not finished reading it. So it gets the honorable mention for now.

What about other books? Because quite frankly I could probably fill this with just series and that’s not what I want, I want to explore a bit more.

So what Sci-fi Novel would I want to read again for the first time?
Probably

Ender’s Game

or Dune

And the Agatha Christie read I wish I could read for the very first time?

[By the way, this is my fave screen adaptation of it, and I’ve seen most of them]

I think I would also have loved the chance to read The Forsyte Saga for the first time.

[Another great screen adaptation but despite this face, we do not like this character, remember that! It’s just the only gif for this and I wanted to stick with the theme lol]

I always envy people reading or watching something I love for the first time, cause they’re getting that moment of amaze and joy that you only get once. But! The great thing about a reread is you etch it into your heart a little more each time, so there’s solace in that.

So there we have it, some of the books I would love to read for the first time over again.

[Sorry, couldn’t help myself, this song was in my head the whole time writing]

Toodles!

If only this was possible.
I would love to read Harry Potter again for the first time. I’ve only read the first 2 books in Narnia so I don’t know whether I’d want to read that for the first time again.
I haven’t read Ender’s Game or Murder on the Orient Express but they’re on my TBR.
I’m not sure if I’ve heard of Dune or The Forsyte Saga before, I’ll have to check them out.

I totally tried rereading Harry Potter, but I totally failed. I have read the first book for the first time in 2001 and I tried to start my reread and 2017.

Ditto on Narnia, I think my mum read the first two stories in the Chronicles to me then we stopped. I have huge hardback edition of it, I think it was my mums not sure. Anyway I really want to read the stories, cause I can’t even remember the first two or if my mum did read them to me. I love the adaptations to Narnia though… *edmund is precious and hawt*

Ah, It would be truly lovely to get to read Harry Potter all over again for the very first time!
Discovering the magic, meeting the characters, falling in love with them… God, that’s a dream.
I haven’t read any of the other books you’ve mentioned, so on my TBR they go so I can read them and love them!

omg I would *love* to rediscover the magic of my childhood faves, which is probably a huge part of why I try to wait at least 3-5 years in between rereads (longer for the childhood faves that I would reread and reread and reread until I almost knew them line for line 😅); HP and Series of Unfortunate Events and Percy Jackson and Inkheart are probably at the top of that list. last year I revisited the Little House series and it was amazing.

I’m suddenly reminded that I only got through the original Ender trilogy and was maybe halfway through the Shadow arc (or whatever you call it, ya girl really doesn’t speak sci-fi welp) when I got distracted by … probably a shiny ARC or at least new release? but they’re awesome books, I should finish them up!

HALEY THAT MADONNA GIF IS EVERYTHING I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED FOR THIS PROMPT YAS!!!!!!!

Honestly would LOVE to revisit the bops of my childhood days, Narnia would definitely be at the top of the list. I am still making my way through the Harry Potter series for the first time so I’m gonna give those a couple more years before I can start saying “man I wish I could read those again for the first time” lmao.
