Night of the Living Cat (Vol. 1)

A virus spreads across the world, transforming all humankind into wild, slavering, furry beasts: cats, to be precise.

Storygraph

So I missed the meeting for this, I was at *checks notes* Warped Tour, when you get to be my age, you just sort of start to accept time just being a blur lol ‘what month is this, what do you mean that wasn’t last week but in fact two months ago?’ Anyway! I was bummed to miss out on the Club’s discussion on it but this manga just got me hooked. It is so over the top and melodramatic and just…PERFECT. Imagine that instead of a zombie apocalypse, humanity had a cat one, we’re all slowly turning into cats. But we still yearn to cuddle and pet the cats, so here we are as a species, unable to but slowly disappearing as everyone around us changes into a cat in a zombie like virus spread.

Want to read it now? You’re welcome either way because I’ve either lured you in or warned you off, lol.

The over the top is part of the charm for me but it might not be for some of you reading this. I think it’s just also light hearted enough to really make me appreciate it all the more. Some times I need something ridiculous that will make me smile and I liked the art and the concept of a cat-pocalypse.

It’s a quick read, gave me a few chuckles and parts that I would re-read just from being so amused, and I already bought volume 2.

5/5 Cups of coffee from me!
