Bewitching A Highlander was pretty much exactly what I needed, some light (and a bit spicy) historical romance. I find it’s always good to break up my usual reading picks with something different. Not to mention this is just such a delightful read in general. Roma Cordon does a fantastic job of giving you witchy Scottish vibes and a swoon worthy man. I loved the chemistry of Egan and Breena together, they have a natural pull that Cordon writes flawlessly. The romance isn’t too spicy but it has a bit of ‘kick’ to it. The pacing is on the faster side which works perfectly for this story and to top it all off it has so much heart to it. This isn’t just about the romance it’s about a woman also trying to get answers from her past. So yes, there’s a lot of love, romantically and familial. Untangling the past and having dashing -and daring- rescues all while falling in love? Yes please. Not to mention the absolutely awesome witchy vibes that accompany everything. Egan is not a one dimensional character either, he’s fully hashed out and I ended up adoring him. He has a heart of gold and though he can be infuriating the hurt he carries from his own past makes me pretty much forgive everything lol. Then again I’m known to have a weakness for Scottish men bahaha. This was such an easy and engrossing read and that’s partially from a solid and fun plot and a fluid writing style from Cordon. 4/5 Cups of coffee from me! Overall it was a great read, and a very promising debut work, I can’t wait to read more from this author.
