A spellbinding story of three princesses and the destiny they were born for: seduction, conquest, and the crown. Immerse yourself in the first book in a new fantasy trilogy from the author of the New York Times bestselling Ash Princess series.

Empress Margaraux has had plans for her daughters since the day they were born. Princesses Sophronia, Daphne, and Beatriz will be queens. And now, age sixteen, they each must leave their homeland and marry their princes.

Beautiful, smart, and demure, the triplets appear to be the perfect brides—because Margaraux knows there is one common truth: everyone underestimates a girl. Which is a grave mistake. Sophronia, Daphne, and Beatriz are no innocents. They have been trained since birth in the arts of deception, seduction, and violence with a singular goal—to bring down monarchies— and their marriages are merely the first stage of their mother’s grand vision: to one day reign over the entire continent of Vesteria.

The princesses have spent their lives preparing, and now they are ready, each with her own secret skill, and each with a single wish, pulled from the stars. Only, the stars have their own plans—and their mother hasn’t told them all of hers.

Life abroad is a test. Will their loyalties stay true? Or will they learn that they can’t trust anyone—not even each other?

Reviews:

“Enchanting…filled with captivating court intrigue and espionage.” —Kirkus Reviews

“A page-turner that brilliantly blends magic, romance, and adventure. A twist ending leaves readers reeling but ready for the second installment in the planned trilogy.” —Booklist

“Sebastian excels at world building…and a few tantalizing open threads certainly warrant interest in the future two volumes in this trilogy.” —The Bulletin

“Anextravagantly built series starter” —Publishers Weekly

I don’t even know that I can write a coherent review for how much I LOVED this book. I am a huge fan of political intrigue, you toss in some romance, a lot of secret plans, assassins, princesses trained to bring down kingdoms..and..and I’m 150% there.

I think this book will be in my top five of 2022 released books. I’ve definitely added it to my general ‘favorites’ shelf on GoodReads as well. We follow the three princesses in the three different kingdoms they’ve been sent to as brides to be. Each princess and each kingdom is so unique. The pacing is so fluid that you won’t even think twice about sitting down with this book and just losing yourself for a day. It builds tension and it never felt too slow for me despite the larger size of the book compared to others in the same vein as it (or even compared to the author’s other works).

With such great pacing and intricate world building, this is a gem. How this book almost missed my TBR is almost a crime.

I won’t lie, I couldn’t stop myself from skipping ahead which shows just how excited I was to read this and find out what happens next. I haven’t done that in a while. The magic system is great, super creative and magic is treated so differently in each kingdom. Seriously, world building is everything I could have asked for and that’s not even saying anything about the plot.

The plot.

THE PLOT.

I did not see that twist coming, HOLY COW. You could have knocked me over with a literal feather after that ending, I was that shocked. There’s no way I can hold myself together when I even look back at the ending.

I adore this book and its characters with every fiber of my being…though Sebastian is definitely hoping to collect a massive cauldron of reader’s tears, forget the vials.
5/5 HUGE Cups of coffee from me. Seriously, please, if this sounds like it’s your kind of book, add it to your TBR. Thanks so much to Rock Star Book Tours and the Publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
