Planning: A book that is completely thought out

The Thornbirds I love family sagas, I really do, and this one is so well thought out and well, of course, heartbreaking because apparently, I’m almost completely incapable of reading cheerful books.

Focus: A book that kept your undivided attention

Crown of Feathers, honestly how could I put that book down when there are phoenixes involved?! HMM?!!! Preto knows her audience lol. Not to mention after you get to the ‘final countdown’ part of the book it’s just “OMG” the whole way till the end. AND THAT ENDING.

Delegating: A book that should have been a series

*Stares at Descendant of the Crane* We all saw that ending if you’ve read it. We need more. Honestly, how am I supposed to be okay with only one book?! I HAVE A NEED.

Small goals: Name a book below 150 pages that you loved

Thirteen Months of Sunrise, I love flowery short stories and I wanted this one to go for another hundred pages at least but I adored what we were given.

Peak Hours: A series you could only read at a certain time

Most of the time I can only focus on my reading at night so most series fall into that category, but, Game of Thrones I can only read during summer months, Idk why but if I didn’t finish it before it was due back at the library I literally just waited a year and then dove back in, I also took my time with it because why should I hurry if he isn’t in a hurry to finish it?? I know. I’m salty.

Lists: A book that you finally crossed off your TBR 

Book of Dust, I took forever to read that, mostly because I was afraid it wouldn’t live up to my expectations, but I didn’t have to worry about that in the end! Seriously, I had that book for like a year.

Proactive: A book that is/was ahead of its time

The Forsyte Saga, so hear me out, you don’t have to read or even like classics, I don’t care that’s all personal preference. I’m more specifically talking about the first three books that make up the one called the saga, this was published in 1921. John Galsworthy addresses the importance of arts and the problems of the middle class and their politics but even more importantly, Galsworthy tackles marital rape. This is a time where well, let’s be honest, we didn’t even have the vote let alone had the notion of rape associated with our spouses when we were still property to most. Galsworthy addresses that too, women viewed as property and the character who does this all is vilified so you won’t see him get off scot-free.

Declutter: A series you wish you could unread

The Divergent trilogy. If I could also get my money back, that would be fantastic. I actually enjoyed the ending it was the only part I really enjoyed, the rest was interesting enough but I couldn’t really get into it, I’d rather reread Twilight than to ever pick up that series again (at least Twilight had interesting characters, even if they weren’t the MC or love interest).

Multi-tasking: books that you read at the same time

Anytime I read nonfiction, I’ll read a fiction book to balance it out, I read about the Russian Revolution and Metro 2033 at the same time and that actually was super helpful in understanding the different political situations in that book.
