Syd Dallas is responsible for pop culture’s greatest hero: THE DOMAIN! But his sons Miles and David have a complicated relationship with both the creation and their creator. Can they convince their dad to fight for their family’s legacy?
I loved the name, I did think that this meant the comic was somehow coming into public domain as in that was the gist but with the hero’s name being The Domain that meant more of a fun play one words and public domain concept considering the plot of this. No spoilers from me. I liked how just unlikeable some of these characters are and clearly based on real people, the family is wildly unhinged and the brothers are so different that you can’t help but be drawn into their whole familial drama. Sad is prompted into a route he might not have taken without the support or nudging of his family and outside characters who are slowly embedding themselves and I loved the ending for this; it made me really want to pick up the next volume. 3.5/5 Cups of coffee from me, but I got my eye on a certain brother who I’m not keen on, you know who you are.

Catastrophic, world-altering events like the September 11 attacks on the United States place the millions of us who experience them on the “fault line where world history and personal history collide.”
I didn’t give this a rating *yet* because I’m still not sure. On the one hand it is a great introspective look into Spiegelman’s thought process and how 9/11 affected him. He drew back onto older comics he let his jumbled narrative unwind itself and it was all so raw and candid. I really enjoyed that, I’m just not sure with some of the humbleness if it’s making it higher or lower on my personal rating scale. Now, Spiegelman’s thoughts were opposed to many of the public (or the public according to the news and times of it all), so it’s important to keep that in mind. You may. not like what you read if you don’t appreciate another viewpoint when it comes to 9/11. Overall, certainly worth the read for me and I’m glad I read it.

Never Been Deader follows the wildly relatable Lifeless Carl as he reluctantly journeys through the afterlife. Most of Carl’s time is spent in the offices of Afterlife Industries, where he works in the Department of Intake for the recently deceased.-(Link to come, it’s not on StoryGraph yet)
I didn’t read this as a web comic, just looked at its title and synopsis and decided this one was for me, lol. Imagine dying only to find out that 9-5 office drudgery continues beyond the grave and there’s Carl’s life. I really thought this was pretty humorous, I loved Carl and his cat, and his coworkers. And I really enjoy the concept of the afterlife being just more of this, I mean I enjoy it as a *concept* I won’t be happy if I kick the bucket and have to fight a paper copy machine. If you want. quick fun read, especially with October coming up, this might be a great pick for you. 4/5 Cups of coffee from me, thanks to Titan Comics for a chance to read this before it was published but as of 9/23/25, it’s out on the shelves!
