Before Your Memory Fades

From the author of Before the Coffee Gets Cold and Tales from the Cafe comes another story of four new customers, each of whom is hoping to take advantage of Café Funiculi Funicula’s time-traveling offer.

I think the second book is my favorite so far, I still have two more to read for those currently translated (they’re are six total in Japanese as of me writing this). They’re wholesome and full of heart but the rules are still a little repetitive within each book and sometimes the dialogue feels also on rotation of some sort. I also think that maybe the narrator for the audiobook draws me while at the sometime somehow making me wince when he does the voices for the girls and women lol. I enjoy hearing the stories for new characters and learning more about those behind this amazing cafe but I just feel like the moment I get invested, I’m off to the next and maybe that’s how it’s just meant to be. No fault in that but for me it’s something I need more of in my own reading preferences.

This definitely won’t stop me from going on to the next book but I’ll be switching back to the non-audio format for this as I was super lucky to win an ARC of the fourth book in a contest a while back. And I’ll have to see if I feel like diving back into audio after that.

3/5 Cups of coffee from me, feel free to check out my reviews on the other books!
