Hated by humans and demons alike, Cat-Eyed Boy dwells in the shadows of the human world. Wherever he goes, disturbing tales of both men and monsters begin to unfurl.
MY REVIEW
Latest topic of comic book club, and this was a delightfully chaotic/wild ride from tart to finish. The first story gave me some Tales of the Crypt Keeper vibes and I was here for it, then second story was WILDLY darker and almost hilariously so. Such a flip of the switch. Cat-Eyed Boy is the best part of this, even if he starts as an observer he seems to get pulled into each story and more so too.
This is a horror manga so don’t let the cute cover fool you. Though Cat-Eyed Boy is adorable, he is not to be messed with but also he’s part of some chilling things. This is more zany than terrifying but it gets dark enough to be appreciated especially for when this was written. A fantastic blend of humor and horror and eventually giving us an arc of a story.
And then leaving us with such a cliffhanger. AGH. That means I’m definitely buying the second volume and I can’t wait to see what happens to Cat-Eyed Boy next.
4/5 Cups of coffee from me, I had a lot of fun hearing everyone’s thoughts at Comic Club!
