MY REVIEW

I don’t usually review books like this, no reason other than they’re kinda my like genre breaking reads so I use them to help me chug along sometimes. I decided to review this one since it’s so cutely Halloween themed!

I thought Joey was a super fun character to read about but I definitely preferred Chris her LI to her. Mostly because he is a huge Nirvana fan, and I’m a huge Nirvana fan. This is a nice formulaic, spicy romance and it makes for a nice fun quick read. Joey had the stereotypical over the top best friend, she had a super cute Brother and it was his wedding that brought her home, and Chris of course is a nice lil blast from her past.

I didn’t like Joey’s attitude about how Chris was in the past maybe because in HS he’s the kinda guy I would have had a crush on, the guy with the kinda rocker or emo or goth vibe…it’s not entirely clear aside from the wallet chain which makes me lean toward the other two lmao but Nirvana fan makes me question. Anyway she was pretty weirdly judgy about him liking Nirvana and having been the stoner scrawny alternative guy. It was as if him being nothing like that anymore on the outside caught her attention, and I mean people change but it is..Idk it was a weird part to focus on and she didn’t understand his Nirvana obsession and as someone who would be on his level, well, lolol I was flabbergasted. I think that’s a me problem then.

Anywho! Super cute, HEA, good spice, a lot of banter (maybe overly so) and set in a nice cozy Halloween fall setting. Sooooo YAY!

3/5 Cups of coffee from me! I was able to read this through my library’s digital system, it’s part of a trio and the other two books are set in Thanksgiving and Christmas but they have the same couple for both of those (and not the same as this one).
