July 2021 Illumicrate Unboxing

Here we go!

July’s Theme: ‘Never Enough’

I’ve never read Red Rising so a lot of its items I just either attempt to sell (which rarely works out) or I just put them away. I’m not opposed to reading it, it’s just like my life is filling up with fandoms at a scarily rapid pace and sometimes you just gotta say no. This was an alright item, I like my Addie acrylic frame a lot but I am hoping to shift it. There’s nothing wrong with it and the print is pretty, just not the item for me.

Descendant of the Crane is a huge love of mine lol, so to get an item for it was super exciting. The fan is quite pretty and I love the art and quote they chose, ‘No night was perfect for treason, but this one came close’

An item inspired by The Picture of Dorian Gray! I love this story by Wilde and the pocket mirror is super nice. I don’t use them often but they are always handy to have! On it, it reads; ‘To define is to limit.’

Inspired by A Darker Shade of Magic this is a bust of Lila Bard…I have no words for this. But I really had flashbacks of the Mozart bust at Uni.

The pictures don’t do this mug justice. I love the Rosiethorns88 mugs, and was SO excited for this one! The Poppy War is an AMAZING book/trilogy so having a mug for it made my day!

Here we go, the monthly pin! Now, let’s get to the book

She Who Became the Sun was this month’s book and I loved it, I joined the readalong, what a freaking AMAZING read. Seriously one of the best fantasy books I’ve read this year. My review is already up as well! The clouds on the edges, foiling, reverse art, ugh, all so perfect. *Sobs*

BONUS ITEMS

We get this lovely little sampler for The Upper World which is out now btw, and the signed bookplate for In the Ravenous Dark was included in this box (or sent separately if you didn’t get this box)

There we have it! I’m all caught up with Illumicrate, I’ll post August’s box soon but it is the latest one we got, so YUS.

Did you get this box? What did you think either way? Any items you liked or hated?
