May 2021 Illumicrate Unboxing

Here we go!

May’s Theme: ‘Change Your Stars’

So we’re just going to start off with the weakest item of this box. It’s the newest collectible item and it’s an enamel metal key. NOW. That’ snot to say the other ‘illumikeys’ will be this ‘flat’ for me, but this one was. It is based of Skyward which I haven’t read yet, but honestly I though it was a transformers key for Bumblebee…lol so this was not for me but a super cute idea. (Also SUPER heavy)

Even though I have a surplus of notebooks (I mean is that even really a problem?) I really like this one and it’s a great quality. Not to mention it’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

A tea tin! This one though I can totally make use of, because it’s pretty and because it’s Daevabad inspired! On the bottom it says “Al the elements- earth, fire, water, air- have their own creatures.” – S.A. Chakraborty

A really nice book sleeve inspired by Spinning Silver which I totally snagged that pretty Illumicrate edition of it!

I’m actually a Novel Threads subscriber (or was, they just did their final one aside from a couple of specials they’ll do like this one) so I was really excited to get this one. It’s inspired by Girls of Paper and Fire which has been one of my favorite new books to read since I started book blogging. I think this is gorgeous.

Here we go, the monthly pin! Now, let’s get to the book

The Jasmine Throne was this month’s book and I adored it, I read my ARC version of it around the same time as the readalong, gave me a chance to catch up on my back long and I cannot wait for book two! I loved the stenciling and the foiling underneath! ❤

There we have it! The May Illumicrate box! Did you get this box? What did you think either way? Any items you liked or hated?

I love your unboxings! Its fun to see what was included in the boxes but I think I definitely made the right call for me to stop my Illumicrate subscription at the start of the year. They do seem rather stuck on the same few fandoms (some of which I haven’t read) and items (book sleeves are pretty but I don’t need loads of them).
