Bookending Spring 2019- Marie Kondo Challenge

Another Bookending Spring 2019 post from me! [Today’s prompt was given to us by AJ]

Sam is our amazing host for this, so go look and see what 30 books she’d keep if she were Marie Kondo, here! [Thank you to Sam & Clo for putting this event together!]

[Remember you may not want to do this prompt but that’s okay, you can still participate in the event, us hosts are just here to give prompts that you may use if you want! And I couldn’t help myself, I wanted to do this prompt and like every other. To find out how to join the event click on Sam’s name where you’ll be taken to her blog with the information you need!]

AJ noted someone did a Marie Kondo Challenge and decided to give it a go and so have I! So…What 30 Books would I keep if I could only keep 30? Well I mean the ones pictured for sure…but let’s see what else (and that’s impressive since I don’t have my final/physical copy of Descendant of the Crane)

  1. Brave New World
  2. Ender’s Game
  3. The Golden One
  4. The Crimson Claw
  5. The Crystal Eye
  6. Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone
  7. Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets
  8. Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban
  9. Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire
  10. Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix
  11. Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince
  12. Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows
  13. Descendant of the Crane
  14. A Certain Slant of Light
  15. The China Garden
  16. Vanity Fair
  17. Wuthering Height
  18. A Tale of Two Cities
  19. Great Expectations
  20. Inkheart
  21. Inkspell
  22. Inkdeath
  23. The Hunger Games
  24. Catching Fire
  25. Mocking Jay
  26. The Secret Garden
  27. Anne of Green Gables
  28. Anne of Avonlea
  29. Anne of the Island
  30. Peter Pan

Well there we have it, I would cry and throw a fit if the rest of my books could not stay but these are the ones I guess I couldn’t do without, that I own already.

But let’s be real. I’m not getting rid of most of my books anytime soon, and I’ve loved almost every book I’ve read that I own, and if I don’t, well, out it goes.

What about you? Did you do this prompt? Send me your links for it! And if you didn’t, what books would you want to keep?

  1. Great post. It is so hard to know what books I would keep if I were to try and get rid of some. Even if one keeps all their books, just the mental exercise of trying to pick would be enough to make me scream NO STOP NO!

  2. I somehow forgot to add the Harry Potter series on my list and I feel like such a fraud 😁 I have this gorgeous hardcover of Wuthering Heights that I’m definitely keeping. Great list! I wrote mine here https://sakhilewhispers.wordpress.com/2019/04/04/30-books-id-keep-if-i-were-marie-kondo/

  3. I don’t own many books, and like you, I usually like the books that I do keep most of the time. I’d keep Opposite of Always, Cage of Deceit, American Panda (when and if I get a copy) – actually, I’d keep all of the books that are signed by authors. There’s something special and personalized about keeping them, so those would be my priority for sure.

    1. Honestly, I was like ‘They can take my kindle out of my cold dead fingers before I give up the books on it’
